Men's Discipleship

Below are some digital resources that we hope will challenge you to grow spiritually in your relationship with Jesus, as leaders in your homes and together in brotherly fellowship.

7 Challenges Men Encounter
Daily it's getting more challenging to be a man.  Our present culture is redefining manhood and confusing men in their pursuit of Biblical manhood. But how will you respond?  What will you say and do when the world demands a response?  Discover how to respond by rejecting passivity, accepting responsibility, leading courageously, loving unconditionally, living with integrity, serving humbly, and investing eternally.  Let others see masculinity and manhood through the lens of Christ in your life with these seven characteristics and become a better man, husband, father, and leader.

Be a Godly Man
God has created men to have incredible strength.  But today's culture has hijacked masculinity, distorting strength into passivity and abuse.  In this 5-party video Bible study series, pastor Joby Martin invites men to embrace God's definition of masculinity and to step into His calling upon their lives to weild their strength on behalf of others.  God has designed men to be proectors, providers, and defenders.  When men act like men, everyone flourishes.

A Man and His Design
A Man and His Design  is a 6-session Bible study that builds upon many of the timeless truths taught by Robert Lewis in the original Men's Fraternity curriculum but also includes new material on authentic manhood.  This series is designed to inspire and equip men to pursue authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ in His 33 years on earth

New Sunday Studies

Marriage by Design | 9:30am | Chapel

Led by Pastor Brian Weaver and Jeff Williams. Marriage is the most intimate, complicated, stressful, rewarding and joy-filled relationship a man and woman can have, in the truth of God’s Word and the love of Jesus Christ. This study will look at the marriage relationship through God’s Word, with in-depth conversation and insight. Topics to be discussed include God’s design and purpose for marriage, the impact of sin in our relationships, the Biblical roles and understanding of man and woman and serving together as husband and wife in Christ’s Kingdom.

Acts | 9:30 & 11am | Life Center 211/213

Led by Pastor Rob Bailey. This 14-week Bible study in the book of Acts will look at Jesus-centered church planting, and how Gloria Dei is church planting in today's world.

Bible Studies for Adults | 9:30am | Life Center 214/216

Led by Kurt Rosenhagen. Bible Stories for Adults is your opportunity to become reacquainted with the Biblical characters and events that Christians have come to love. There is much we can learn about God as He reveals Himself through His-Story.

Ongoing Sunday Studies

What Lutherans Believe | 11Am | Life Center 214/216

Led by Keith Chuvala. What does it mean to be a "Lutheran" Christian? What sets Lutherans apart from Roman Catholics, Baptists, Episcopalians, and all those other Christian denominations? In this class we look at the fundamentals of Lutheran/Christian theology and its basis in the Bible, plus we cover topics picked by members of the class! If you're wondering about elements of our worship here at Gloria Dei, want to know where the LC-MS stands on a hot-button issue, or have questions that require a deeper answer than you can typically get from a Sunday sermon, this class is for you. It is an interactive, discussion-based study, and is open to all. You can jump in and join the discussion if you like, or just sit back, enjoy, and absorb the conversation. The topic usually changes every 1 to 3 weeks. Come and join us at any time!

The Gospel of John | 8am | Life Center 210

Led by Gary Himmler. The "Disciple Whom Jesus Loved" reveals Jesus much more intimately than any other writer.  John pulls back the curtain to share Jesus' private, powerful prayer to His Father for us, His disciples.  He tells us that Jesus is the Light who came into the world.  He records Jesus' deep teachings about the indwelling Holy Spirit.  He reveals most fully Jesus' tender love for the little flock who respond to His call to follow Him.  He gives us even the innermost thoughts and emotions of the Lord. In this study, we will grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ by receiving the grace that He gives us through the gospel.

Mid-Week Men's Studies

Book of Romans  |  Tuesdays | 6:45-8am  |  Life Center 216

Led by Ron Petri. There are a great many reasons why this particular book is perhaps the most crucial in the entire Bible for the Christian to understand the doctrines of the Faith. Nowhere else in Scripture is so direct and precise of presentation given concerning the great truths of the Gospel. In this study we will walk through the explanation of the Gospel. Questions about Tuesday Morning Men's Bible Study, contact Ron Petri at 281-733-9460.
